Stock Technical Analysis Report Generator — Instant AI Reports#
Every trader has done this: open a chart, spend 15 minutes drawing support and resistance lines, calculate Fibonacci levels, check RSI and MACD, identify candlestick patterns, and then write notes on what you see. Then you repeat the process for the next stock on your watchlist.
A technical analysis report generator does all of this in seconds. Upload a chart screenshot, and the AI returns a structured, professional-grade technical analysis report covering trend, key levels, indicator readings, pattern detection, and a trading plan.
This article covers how AI-generated technical analysis reports work, what they contain, and how to use them in your stock trading workflow.
What a Technical Analysis Report Contains#
A professional technical analysis report should answer five questions. Whether written by a human analyst or generated by AI, the structure is the same.
1. Market Overview and Trend#
The report's first section establishes the current market regime: trending up, trending down, or ranging. It answers:
- What is the current trend direction and strength?
- Is the trend intact, weakening, or reversing?
- How does the current timeframe relate to higher timeframes?
Good reports don't just state "uptrend" — they provide evidence: "Price is above the 50 and 200-day SMAs. The most recent swing low is higher than the prior swing low. The trend is bullish with moderate strength."
2. Key Support and Resistance Levels#
Every actionable report identifies the levels that matter right now. Not every level on the chart — the levels that are relevant to the current price and the current setup.
- Nearest support — The closest level below current price where buyers have historically stepped in
- Major support — A deeper level that would invalidate the trend if broken
- Nearest resistance — The closest level above current price that has rejected price previously
- Major resistance — A significant level above that could cap the move
Each level should include a confidence score or justification: "Support at $185 (confidence: high — 4 touches, with volume on the last two)."
3. Indicator Readings and Interpretation#
Raw indicator values are useless without interpretation. A report that says "RSI: 62" has done half the work. A report that says "RSI: 62 — neutral, neither overbought nor oversold, room to run in either direction" has done the full job.
The key indicators in a stock analysis report:
- RSI — Overbought/oversold status, divergence detection, momentum assessment
- MACD — Signal line position, histogram direction, crossover status
- Moving averages — Price relative to key SMAs/EMAs, crossover status, slope direction
- Volume — Is the current move confirmed by volume? Is volume declining or accelerating?
4. Pattern Detection#
All significant chart patterns on the analysed timeframe, with confidence scores. Not just the pattern name but its implications: "A bull flag is forming on the 1H chart. Pattern confidence: moderate. Breakout above the upper trendline with volume would target the prior high."
5. Trading Plan (Optional but Valuable)#
The most useful reports go beyond diagnosis to prescription. Given all the above, what would a trade look like? The plan should include:
- Direction (long, short, or neutral)
- Entry zone with justification
- Stop-loss level with justification
- Take-profit targets (at least two)
- Risk:reward ratio
How an AI Report Generator Works#
A tool like TradingLens generates a complete technical analysis report from a single chart screenshot. Here's the process.
Input: A Chart Screenshot#
You capture a screenshot of any stock chart from TradingView, your broker, or any charting platform. The screenshot should include the price axis, volume bars, and at least 50–100 candles for reliable analysis.
Processing: The AI Reads the Entire Chart#
The AI doesn't just read indicator values — it visually analyses the entire chart structure:
- Candlestick-by-candlestick analysis to identify formations and patterns
- Algorithmic level detection that identifies support and resistance zones based on multiple touches, volume clusters, and prior structure
- Indicator extraction that reads RSI and MACD values directly from the chart image
- Fibonacci level calculation based on the most recent significant swing
- Volume analysis that evaluates whether recent moves are confirmed or divergent
Output: A Structured Report#
The AI returns a structured report in approximately 7 seconds. The output is organised by section — trend, levels, indicators, patterns, scenarios, trading plan — so you can scan to the most relevant part without reading the whole thing every time.
Example: Generated Report for AAPL#
Here's what a real AI-generated technical analysis report looks like for Apple (AAPL) on the daily timeframe.
Report generated by TradingLens — July 2026
Market Overview:
- Trend: Bullish (moderate confidence)
- Price currently above both 50 and 200-day SMAs
- Higher timeframe (weekly): Bullish — weekly trend intact
Key Levels:
- Support 1: $233 (recent swing low) — Confidence: High
- Support 2: $225 (prior resistance-turned-support) — Confidence: Moderate
- Resistance 1: $250 (recent high, psychological level) — Confidence: High
- Resistance 2: $260 (prior high) — Confidence: Moderate
Indicators:
- RSI: 58 (neutral, above 50 = bullish bias, room to run)
- MACD: Signal line above zero, histogram rising (momentum positive, not yet extended)
- Volume: Below average on the current move — a caution flag for breakout reliability
Pattern Detection:
- Current move: Ascending channel forming since June, 4 touches on lower trendline
- The channel has about 5% remaining room to the upper boundary — near-term target around $250–252
- No reversal patterns detected. No bearish divergences
Bullish Scenario (65% probability): AAPL continues within the ascending channel toward the $250 resistance. A break above $250 with volume would open the path to $260.
Bearish Scenario (35% probability): The low-volume channel is a flagging pattern that breaks downward. A break below $233 (channel support) would invalidate the bullish structure and target $225.
Trading Plan:
- Direction: Long on pullback to channel support
- Entry zone: $234–$236 (near channel lower trendline, above support)
- Stop-loss: $230 (below Support 1, with ATR buffer)
- Target 1: $248 (channel midpoint, take 50% off)
- Target 2: $252 (channel upper boundary, let remainder run)
- Risk:Reward at Target 1: ~1:3
Using AI Reports in Your Stock Trading Workflow#
Morning Prep (15 minutes)#
- Build your watchlist. Select the stocks you're monitoring today — earnings plays, sector leaders, technical setups from yesterday's close.
- Generate reports. For each stock on your watchlist, capture a daily chart screenshot and generate a report with TradingLens.
- Review and rank. Compare the reports side by side. Which stocks have clear levels? The best risk:reward ratios? The strongest trend alignment? Rank them.
- Note key levels. Write down the nearest support, resistance, and pivot levels for your top 3 candidates. These are your intraday reference points.
Trade Decision#
- Confirm with fresh data. Before entering, capture a current intraday chart screenshot and generate a fresh report. Levels shift during the trading day — the daily report's levels are reference points, not execution levels.
- Check the AI plan against your context. Does the AI's level of confluence match your conviction? Is there a catalyst you know about that the AI doesn't (earnings, news, sector rotation)?
- Adjust position sizing. Use the AI's stop distance and your account risk % to calculate position size. A wider stop means a smaller position — and that's fine.
Post-Trade Review#
- Save the report. Keep a copy of the AI report you used for the trade entry.
- Compare with outcome. Did the AI-identified levels hold? Did the stop or target get hit? Was the scenario probability accurate?
- Learn the pattern. Over time, you'll notice which report structures produce the best outcomes for your trading style — specific level types, indicator combinations, or pattern formations.
The Limits of Automated Stock Reports#
AI-generated technical analysis reports are powerful, but they have blind spots every trader needs to account for.
No Fundamental Context#
The AI doesn't know about earnings next week, a CEO change, a regulatory filing, or a product launch. A report showing a textbook bullish flag is irrelevant if the company is announcing earnings that could move the stock 10% either direction in a single session.
How to handle it: Check the earnings calendar and recent news for every stock before acting on an AI report.
No Market Context#
The report analyses the stock in isolation. It doesn't account for sector rotation, market regime changes, or correlation with market indices. A stock that looks technically perfect might be a selloff candidate if its entire sector is rotating lower.
How to handle it: Start your session by analysing the major indices (SPY, QQQ, IWM) with the same reports. Understand the market context for the day before evaluating individual stocks.
Static Analysis#
The report is a snapshot of the chart at the moment it was generated. As price moves, levels shift. A stop level that was safely below support an hour ago might now be within the noise range.
How to handle it: Regenerate reports during your trading session, especially after significant price moves or at session transitions (pre-market to open, lunch period to power hour).
No Position Management#
The trading plan tells you where to enter, stop, and take profit — but it doesn't tell you how to manage the trade once it's running. When to trail a stop, when to scale out, when to add to a winner — these are trader skills that no report can replace.
The Bottom Line#
A stock technical analysis report generator turns minutes of manual chartwork into seconds of automated analysis. It doesn't replace your judgment — it accelerates your workflow so you spend less time drawing lines and more time making decisions.
The best approach: use AI reports as your first pass for every stock on your watchlist, then layer your own context (fundamentals, market regime, risk management) on top. The combination of AI speed and human judgment consistently outperforms either one alone.
